A tough alien who takes no crap in a post-apocalyptic style world. I loosely based his face on what the love child of Bruce Willis and Shrek would look like.......if it was constipated.
Image completed.....at last. Making this picture was actually a lot of fun but there was a longish spell of creative block that prevented me from getting to work on him. The best way, I've found, to get over a bad period like that is simply to completely stop drawing, painting, sculpting, whatever - and just look at others work for a few days/weeks.however long it takes. Eventually you'll get all psyched up be back on track again.
Ok, enough of my rambling and back to the picture........I just added a nice simple background that doesn't detract from the main figure. In previous posts on my blog I've mentioned some of the things I picked up while making this guy: learning Marvellous Designer was a big one; getting familiar with some of Zbrush's extensive tools such as Noisemaker being another genuinely fun one.
I've never modeled a handgun before and, while this one is good enough as far as this image goes (lets be honest it's two shiny rectangles stuck together at right angles, thats all!), I would like to revisit some hardbody sculpting techniques I only touched upon during this pictures creation. Mixing Zbrush's dynamesh/shadowbox with traditional poly sculpting in Blender is something I'll get more used to as I continue on making stuff.
Tools used while making this pic: Zbrush, Gimp, Irfan View, Marvellous Designer, Blender.
